    The 6th issue of Same Heartbeats was presented at Queer Zine Fest London on December 1st 2013 and is now available for mail-order, distros or trades. Travel stories take the upperhand again, from trips to London, Berlin, Amsterdam, to finally ending with a DIY/feminist tourist guide to Ghent. The zine talks about Ladyfests and zine fests, feminism, self-defense and learning how to play drums. It’s a mix of comics, drawings, collage and text.

  • Scissors & Chainsaws comic zine: INFO

    Scissors & Chainsaws is a diary comic zine that talks about daily life and zine-related things happening in July 2013, International Zine Month. It was made as a challenge for International Zine Month, drawing a comic for each day of the month. It is hand-bound, printed on recycled paper and has a green recycled paper cover.
    Limited edition of 30 copies includes foam bunny bookmark.

    ECHO 22
    Echotopia is a collection of 10 years of Echo zines. It includes articles and drawings from Flapper Gathering, Punk Feminist Mini Zine, Same Heartbeats, Radix and Be All You Can Be and an old-fashioned but brandnew scene report! It gives a good overview of writings and images from 2001 to 2011 that talk about beauty standards, gender, autonomous spaces, independent publishing, punk and more.

  • Coma To Action zine:
    ECHO 019
    A zine made for Yutumuti about ecology and activism, written in Dutch. You can also download, read and print it from here. The pages of the zine make a poster when put together. This poster was exhibited in De Vooruit (during How To Save The World in 10 Days) and Espace Ladda (during Membership) as a part of the Yutumitu / How To Save The World – scrapbook.

    my thesis for women’s studies about anarcha-feminism put out as a zine. it’s in Dutch only for now. it’s about why and how anarcha-feminists try to organise themselves non-hierarchically, with criticisms on some feminist and anarchist practices.

  • Not Lady-like zine:
    ECHO 011
    Not Lady-Like is a zine about my experiences (& adventures?) at Ladyfest Berlin (= a DIY non-profit feminist festival with art, music, film, workshops, games, cakes, action, etc) showing clear signs of horror vacui. It’s a combination of a travel journal, a long festival review, rants about the word lady, gender and “the Hooker incident” (including Manuela’s view on it), info about Berlin, with little portraits of some of the people I met, photos (by Suzanne and me), recipes, drawings, tabs, DIY ideas, a few self-defence tips, a quiz, collages, etc.

    my thesis written in Dutch about Riot Grrrl including chapters and info about feminism, anarchism, DIY, punk, zines, old female punk, grunge, beginning and evolution of riot grrrl, media, Ladyfest and more. in my humble opinion it has a nice cut’n paste layout.
