Sea Green Zines’ list of ZineWriMo activities included making a media box yesterday. What is a media box? It is a box in which you keep all sorts of materials you can use to make zines: clippings, scrapbook paper, stamps, washi tapes, stickers, postcards… Sea Green Zines explains it more clearly here and showed their own here. Such media boxes not only keep useful your zine materials but can also help you get inspired when you’re stuck and out of ideas.
Here are my media boxes: I have two for paper: one for clippings / used wrapping paper and one for coloured paper.
And finally a box for stamps, a few yogi tea cards I liked, glow-in-the-dark glitter paint, metallic glitter paint, a few washi tapes, a supercool pen-measure-tool, letra set letters, golden stars…
Apart from that I have drawers in which I keep white/recycled paper and lined paper and drawing / writing / lino-printing materials, as well as some drawers for postcards and stickers. Well, it’s good to be prepared when making zines!
