NEW NEW NEW – I’ve got lots of new stuff! Stickers, postcards, buttons… Read on to find out more about everything. I’m so grateful for all the support and feedback I got so far about my latest creations. It means the world to me! ❤ And more news: I’ll be teaching two zine workshops, in August and in November…
Hi! Welcome to another International Zine Month (IZM) update! I hope you’re coping well with whatever the season is bringing, whether it’s heat waves or snow storms. Be sure to make some time for resting and reading zines. 🙂 In this blogpost I’m showing you my button machine and my #witchyjournalchallenge pages, reorganising my zine shelves, brainstorming for new projects, and inviting you to create zines together!
It’s July 13th and Full Moon… time to send some art magick out into the world! 😀
In the past few months I’ve been busy creating lots of different witch-themed things: zines, postcards, buttons, stickers, bookmarks… I hope you will enjoy them as much as I’ve enjoyed making them.
During the dark winter days I’ve been working on some new projects. I wanted to make things with the witchy magick of these cold days attached to it. These include stickers, (mini)zines, buttons, postcards, spell bags, and Lost Luna music. Some of these you’ll be able to see very very soon!
Here is a sneak peek for some upcoming mini-zines!:
The pre-order for the new issues of Confined launched today! Scroll down for all the zines and DIY merch that’s available…
Confined is the title of the ongoing zine series of my lockdown diary comics in which I document my daily life and reflections during the covid-19 pandemic. They are a mix of a quaranzine, perzine, and comic zine. I started drawing the first issue in April 2020 and am releasing two new issues on September 14th. Today I’m launching the pre-order of issues #3 and #4 of Confined. These two the diary comic zines continue telling the story from August 2020 until July 2021. Issue #3 has some collages as well and #4 contains interviews with two amazing creative friends: Shei of God Save the Queer and Clémentine of MandApunk and Judith Judah.
The Confined series is one of the biggest zine projects I’ve ever done. If you count all the pages of the zines of this series that I’ve made so far together, it can become one big comic BOOK! I’ve never drawn that many comics / comic pages in such a short time but I feel an urgency to document everything that’s happening at the moment. This also means that this zine series is not done yet and there will be at least one more (5th) issue that I’m already working on, and maybe more.
The pre-order helps me to print the two new issues of Confined and to re-print the first issues. To fund this big project I’ve also created some extra surprises: one-of-a-kind hand-made pieces of embroidery and a zine-themed button set, and you can even acquire a test print of Confined #3 and #4 (for the real collectors among you)!
So… how can you get ahold of the zines and merch?
HOW TO PRE-ORDER:
You can pre-order in my Bandcamp webshop. When you order any Confined zines or merch on Bandcamp you will receive a download of my Lost Luna EP “Shadow Play” as well! The home-recording process of this EP is mentioned in the zines.
(You can also mail me if you prefer to order from me directly – each issue separately costs 3 euros + postage. This will not include the Lost Luna EP.)
The release date for the zines and merch is planned for September 14th!

Besides making zines and music, I also enjoy doing some crafts once in a while…
This summer I’ve been making some new buttons with my button machine (see previous blogpost) as well as sewing a lot of patches on clothes and bags. This was inspired partly by a present by my friend and writer Evelien Victor and by a big online order of patches that arrived from zine pal and queer artist Yori. I also participated in a virtual workshop by another zine pal and artist Seleena Laverne Daye (organised by Andro & Eve) where she taught us participants how to make self-portraits out of felt (Seleena also gave a workshop about the zines in July). Mine aren’t finished yet though… In the photo above you can see that I’ve been sewing a new face mask too. With the ongoing pandemic and some of my masks getting a bit worn-out, it seemed like a good idea to make a fresh one. Finally, I’ve started doing some more embroideries but those are still a surprise! You will find out more about them soon on this blog.
More photos of the crafty projects I’ve been doing this summer:
Yay, Bandcamp has started up their Bandcamp Days again on the first Friday of the month, starting today! This means that on those days all profits from sales go directly to the bands and artists. A perfect moment to discover and support DIY musicians and zinesters who sell their work on this platform.
You can find my music and zines here:
- Lost Luna, my home-recorded solo music project
- Lavender Witch, the witchy feminist band in which I play guitar and do backing vocals
- Echo Zines, with some zine, postcard, and merch bundles (for all my zines and postcards, you can contact me directly)
How’s zine month going for you? I’ve been enjoying myself so far, reading and making zines, and posting about zine stuff on this blog…
I’m skipping today’s official International Zine Month prompt, “write a letter or online post about your IZM2021 experience” (see Stolen Sharpie Revolution), because I will summarise my #IZM2021 experience in a later blogpost.
So instead, I’ll give you some glimpses of the zine projects I’m currently working on:
- Do it Yourself Care #4
- Confined #3 and 4
- New buttons
Lost Luna buttons available in the Shadow Play EP merch bundles:
- Lost Luna logo
- Lost Luna mixtape
- Riot Grrrl*
*This is a variation on one of the buttons I designed for the Riot Grrrl Collectief +/- 15 years ago.
How to place an order?

Today, April 2nd 2021, Lost Luna releases its first EP “Shadow Play”. Home-recorded during the covid-19 lockdown and completely DIY in every sense of the word, the EP offers a mix of lo-fi discopunk and alternative rock songs about the beauty industry, racism during the pandemic, and feeling alienated at work.
“Shadow Play” is available on Bandcamp to listen to for free and as a digital download. There are also merch bundles including zines, postcards, and buttons for sale.
I’ve put together two merch bundles for the “Shadow Play” album that also include a digital download of the songs. Both bundles contain 3 mini-zines especially made for this release: one with the lyrics and song stories, one about being a musician during the pandemic and reclaiming space in a cismale-dominated world, and one about some of the musicians and bands who’ve been inspiring and influencing me to make this EP. The deluxe merch bundle contains additional mini-zines about playing guitar, finding creative inspiration, and what I like about zines.
The 4 buttons that are included in the merch bundles betray some of my main inspirations: queercore, riot grrrl, and mixtapes. And then there’s one with the Lost Luna logo of course.
Finally, a home-recording-themed postcard is included in each bundle and 4 extra postcards featured my artwork are part of the deluxe bundle. The postcards are also for sale separately.
Enjoy listening! ❤
