ECHO is…
my “low-budget DIY feminist publishing and creation project” started in 2001. I make zines, comix, and pamphlets (and sometimes music, spoken word, and crafts too).
Apart from posting about my own zines, I use this blog to announce feminist zine-related news, especially from Belgium, write zine reviews and share articles about DIY feminist zine culture.
(ECHO is not a distro or publishing company!)

Easy DIY idea for displaying mini-zines
I’ve been breaking my head for years about cheap or easy-to-make-myself and light-weight constructions to display zines and postcards on my table at zine fests and craft fairs. Laying them all flat is fine but takes a lot of space … Continue reading

Queer witchery for IDAHOT
Wow, I almost forgot, but it’s IDAHOT today: International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. For this occasion I gathered a few resources and ideas to queerify your witchy crafts and witchify your queer activism. Not only to use today … Continue reading

What would you like to see from Echo Zines in 2022?
Hello, dear reader! I have some questions for you. I’ve been running Echo Zines (and Echo Records, to release a few tapes) for 20 years now and while I’m certainly not out of ideas for ongoing and upcoming projects, I’m … Continue reading

How is your ZineWriMo (zine writing month) going? Have you been making any zines or done some of the prompts? November is already halfway so it’s time to look back at what I did so far and my plans for … Continue reading

How to celebrate a zine anniversary in a pandemic?
How to celebrate a zineversary or zine anniversary in a pandemic? Hmmm, honestly I’m not so sure… This summer it’s been 20 years since I put out my very first zine called Punk Feminist Mini Zine and I’ve been wanting … Continue reading

Zineversary – 20 years of making zines!
Twenty years ago I made my very first zine… yes, 20 years! That’s a longer period of time than the time before when I didn’t make zines yet! In total I’ve made and printed 60 zines for ECHO Zines so … Continue reading

My plans and dreams for 2021
It’s kind of weird to think about what I want to do in 2021 when it’s still unsure what the pandemic situation will be like and what the consequences will be. But a grrrl can dream (and it keeps me … Continue reading

ZineWriMo 2020 overview + online zine workshop
Hello there! Did you participate in ZineWriMo 2020 (Zine Writing Month = November)? How did it go for you? As expected I took things slowly, didn’t follow the official prompts list, didn’t regularly blog about ZineWriMo but did do quite … Continue reading
